Langan Falls is a scenic waterfall situated along the Langan River, which flows through the lower flanks of the Mount Sibulan volcanic edifice in Davao del Sur. The cascade is formed as the river cuts through volcanic terrain, creating a striking drop and natural pools below. Its setting amidst dense vegetation and rugged volcanic rock makes it a refreshing destination and a showcase of the region’s natural beauty.
Geologically, the falls highlight the erosive power of water acting on volcanic deposits, exposing layers of hardened lava and pyroclastic materials that reveal Mount Sibulan’s ancient volcanic history. Ecologically, the river and its pools sustain diverse plant and animal life, while also serving as part of the watershed system that supports nearby communities. Langan Falls thus embodies the dynamic interaction of volcanism, erosion, and ecology in Mt. Apo volcanic complex
