The Tangbulan Fault Triangular Facets are striking, roughly triangular-shaped slopes located on the southwest flanks of Mount Apo, along the trace of the active Tangbulan Fault between Makilala and Bansalan. These facets are classic geomorphic features formed by repeated fault movements, where uplift and erosion have sculpted the landscape into sharp, triangular slopes that mark the fault line.

This geosite highlights the dynamic tectonic environment surrounding Mount Apo, the Philippines’ highest peak. The presence of triangular facets is evidence of ongoing crustal deformation, illustrating how fault activity continues to shape the mountain’s flanks. Beyond their geological significance, the facets serve as natural markers of seismic processes, offering valuable insights into the region’s tectonic history and the forces that continue to influence Mt. Apo  volcanic complex.
